it's a moment before hecate replies, letting her know that she'll be there, transferencing herself over.

and perhaps there's a moment where she's a little taken by the place, studying it before knocking on the door )

[While the outside of the manor is polished and nondescript, what follows when Claudia opens the door is the refinement of darker colors and deep green wildlife. With one of her angelic smiles, Claudia beckons Hecate inside.]

Please, come in. I'll show you to the sitting room.

( her steps are slower as hecate follows claudia in, looking around, and the darker colours are as appreciated here as they are everytime she's at the club.

and the sitting room itself is comfortable to her, hecate quick to take a seat on one of the couches, looking to claudia )

[Sitting on an opposite chair, Claudia folds herself primly before giving an understanding nod.]

By all means, take as much time as you need. I'm in no hurry.

[Really, she has eternity. Why act rushed?]

I've had multiple conversations about this city and what is deemed necessary.

( and slowly hecate looks back up at her )

And what I... have not been doing. Though I... may be unable to do much of it alone.

[There are, of course, several undesirable aspects of the city, so Claudia feels the need to clarify.]

Would you be referring to the monthly quota, or toward the mandatory contract between dominant and submissive?

I suppose that both would fit into that description.

( though one of them hecate isn't so keen to talk about. yet )

But in this instance the contract. I've learned that it is more essential to life here than simply being a requirement.

For those of you marked more than those of us who are not, of course, but one discovers that status does not protect you from being socially outcast or even imprisoned when the rules aren't followed.

I've learned that I'm unable to properly earn money, nevermind spend it.

( there are some that slightly overlook it but it isn't easy even then. and hecate is already not a fan of shopping, being in shops stranger that she doesn't try much )

I assume that even without a contract you're not bound by such a restriction.

That is correct. It's remarkably archaic, not even allowing an individual to make an independent purchase.

[And Hecate's lasted so long without a contract? Well, Claudia supposes there are free resources to be utilized, paltry as they are.]

You're someone I've... somewhat gotten to know. And I appreciate your manner.

( it's more of a compliment than hecate makes it sound but she's never often tried to really be that personable with people )

[Claudia couldn't say if she's the correct person to trust, but she'll take it. Especially from a woman as outwardly hard as Hecate. she bows her head in understanding of the seriousness of the statement.]

I appreciate your manner, as well. And I admit, I'm quite close to running out of time to ensure for myself another contract. It's something I find quite difficult, and would be more than happy to extend an offer.

There is one thing that they don't speak of. These contracts are required but what precisely is required within them.

( though considering that hecate had first assumed it was a sexual thing she's not doing well )

[It's a generous offer, or perhaps a benevolent one. Claudia smiles slightly.]

With certain caveats, of course. I'd be the one already at an advantage, so all I ask is that you be mindful of choices made that could harm my own practices. Outside of that, I'd ask you to live as freely as you wish underneath my name.

That would be simple to agree to.

( considering that hecate already lived by a code, a code she kept to here it seemed likely that how she already lived would be acceptable to this woman. though she did need encouraging on some of the additions from duplicity life )

I suppose you should know that I have something of a job here.

( she hadn't exactly asked for employment but anders had insisted on paying her for the time she spent at the sanctuary helping out. and hecate had slowly expanded what she did there )

[Her enthusiasm isn't at all faked; Claudia would've suggested that Hecate find herself some means of employment if she hadn't already.]

Idle hands are the devil's plaything, or so they say. Naturally, I don't mind supporting you financially, but I can imagine you would also appreciate having your own income, as well as tasks to keep yourself busy.

If perhaps to not have to ask each time I require something.

( she doesn't know how it would work, an allowance or having to require permission for purchases but she can agree with claudia that having her own income is at least simpler )

There isn't too much that I do require but... a little freedom is preferred.

As far as living quarters, we certainly must get you out of their abysmal lodgings. I have plenty of room here, or we can find another of your choice.

( whilst she's certainly not against move out of the terrible apartment she has or the look of this place living with someone? particularly someone she assumes is mortal-- things are very complicated in this city )

[Want is certainly a strong word, but Claudia isn't going to correct it. That would be rude.]

Why not? There's more than enough space, and I spend so much time at work, you'd all but have it to yourself if you so wished.

[The kitchen, for certain, Claudia not needing to eat and all.]

( or want to. hecate also has never had her own place before so she's very lost really )

I suppose if our schedules are on the opposite times I may not often see you.

( since clubs go overnight. though hecate also doesn't really keep regular hours either )

[And they could always change their arrangement, if they found it not working out as well as they hoped. Still, it would be tedious, so she offers:]

Perhaps you could stay for a few days. We'll carry on as normal, but as a guest you can see for yourself how you like it before making such an impactful decision.

( she nods after a moment, considering it )

That sounds acceptable. And no doubt your home will be suitable.

( wow, hecate, way to sound complimentary. and perhaps she realises that because-- )
