[Claudia frowns at the message. Of course he is--and even though she knows he has no control over disappearing from the city, Claudia's petty enough to want to curse him for it. Mostly because, as always, she's going to be the one picking up the pieces.]
[Claudia doesn't waste time replying; being a vampire means she'll be there in a flash, and she's sure that her question has Diva anticipating her arrival. She knows that no amount of indulgent treats will make up for the loss she's feeling, so Claudia doesn't stop to pick up anything.
She speeds to Diva's cottage, letting herself in through the front door and finding her vampiric sister. At once, she's slipped out of her shoes and has her arms wrapped around the other woman, pulling her close.]
[Claudia pets and consoles Diva, running one hand over her hair as the other arm keeps her close. It's easy to settle into that position, the doting, protective younger sibling.]
It isn't your fault. The world loves to punish women like us.
[Just when you think you've found joy or solace, it's sure to be snatched away.]
[Could it be for the objectively merciless, selfish, and altogether murderous things they've both done in their immortal lifetimes? Were they not, however, conditioned to be monsters from the very beginning? Claudia continues to caress Diva soothingly as she thinks of an appropriate answer.]
